PCA Chess Teaching System & Scholastic Chess Program




TEACHING TECHNIQUE+FUN/SOCIAL ACTIVITIES+ASSESSMENT/PROBLEM SOLVING=CHESS KNOWLEDGE


Lecture & Review:

PCA Instructors will follow a structured lesson plan, demonstration board, and go over chess principles and theory with the students. Informations are foundation based to the progression of chess knowledge: example, basic skills, intermediate tactics, pattern mapping, deep calculation, and complex combination.


Game & Activities:

A hand on approach to learning chess through fun games and activities: checkmate exercises, fun chess drills, friendly games, and simulated tournament games.


Problem & Puzzles:

To increase your child's chess proficiency, they are expose to multiple chess pattern mappings and chess problems. Other chess activities and exercises include: common chess traps, ending exercises, chess puzzles, tactical patterns, combination, and personal game analysis.



PCA CHESS PROGRAM


Level I/Beginner and Foundation 

(2months)

Fundamental chess concept/basic skill/core skill/student finishing this class should know the basic rules, board setup, pieces' movement, basic development, and basic tactics. They will know how to play and conduct a chess game.


Level II/Intermediate and Foundation 

(2months)

Introduction to chess theory and concept/introduction to good opening developments/middle game strategies/end games skills/chess calculations and pattern recognition/ intro to game clock and tournament etiquette.


Level III/Intermediate 

(2months) 

Intermediate tactics and strategies/3 openings for white/3 defense for black/

2 x-weapons/transition from opening to middle game/end games exercises/how to win with a wining position/competition stress management.


Level IV/Advance 

( 2months) 

Advance tactics and strategies/deep chess thinking and calculation/development of a personal chess openings repertoire/chess psychology/personal game analysis/chess score sheet and notation/game analysis of current and previous Grandmaster/get a FIDE ID account/tournament readiness.
